Description
United States Patent and Trademark Office representatives will present a free Intellectual Property Seminar on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 in the Halton Reading Room at the J. Murrey Atkins Library, UNC Charlotte. The seminar is open to students, staff, faculty and the general public. Attendees may attend one or all sessions, as desired.
The schedule includes:
8:30 to 9 a.m. -- Sign-In and Registration packets

9:10 to 10:30 a.m. -- Overview of patents, trademarks, copyright and trade secrets -- Neil Massong, Librarian, USPTO Patent and Trademark Resource Center Program
10:30 to 10:45 a.m. -- Break
10:45 a.m. to noon -- Conducting a preliminary trademark search using USPTO databases -- Spruce Fraser, Librarian, USPTO Patent and Trademark Resouce Center Program
Noon to 1 p.m. -- Lunch (on your own)
1 to 2:30 p.m. -- Seven-Step Strategy for Preliminary U.S. patent search using USPTO databases -- Neil Massong
