About Us
Matthews Community Farmers’ Market (MCFM) was established in 1991 and is the largest, most diverse producer-only farmers' market in the greater Charlotte area. All market products, except fish, are grown, raised or made within 50 miles of Matthews. Fish is caught off the NC coast and brought to market by the fisherman. Buying directly from the local producer allows you to know the source of your food and build a relationship with the people who grow and make it. You'll find freshly harvested produce, naturally-raised meats, local honey, plants, artisan foods and hand-crafted items.
MCFM proudly offers Double Bucks Match to our SNAP/EBT customers. MCFM has also partnered with The Bulb Mobile Market, an organization which serves neighborhoods in local food deserts. Each Saturday, our vendors and customers donate fresh produce by placing it in the cooler in front of the Community House. We're also are part of the Butterfly Highway, a statewide conservation initiative that aims to restore native pollinator habitats to areas impacted by urbanization.
We are a lively community gathering place in the heart Downtown Matthews to shop, nibble, relax and meet your neighbors. MCFM works closely with a team of dedicated volunteers to bring a vibrant market to you each and every Saturday, rain or shine. Come enjoy all we have to offer on Saturday mornings, including live music, cooking demonstrations, food trucks, fun contests, giveaways and more!
