Matthews Masonic Lodge #461
- Community Service & Civic Organizations
Matthews Masonic Lodge #461, a fraternity and community organization in the town of Matthews, has been a part of the town since 1894. Freemasonry is the oldest fraternity known to man and has been traced back to biblical times and even King Solomon. We believe in making good men better and doing good in our community and for our Masonic charities. Masonry promotes ''Faith, Hope and Charity'' and doing good deeds for those in need. Many great, distinguished men in the past held the honorable titles as Masons such as George Washington, William R. Davie(10th governor of NC and founder of UNC), Ben Franklin, Mark Twain, Albert Einstein and many many more. Our Lodge holds yearly events to raise funds for our charites such as the Masonic Childrens Home in Oxford, NC. We have monthly meetings to discuss business and fundraising activities but also just to have dinner with our friends and Brothers. We have a saying, ''to be one, ask one''. Anyone interested in finding out more about becoming a member, please feel free to contact us or stop by for dinner one night. Thank you and God bless.
--We meet the 2nd Thursday of every month @6pm
